Trailer Service/Repair Department
We repair all brands of trailers, large or small. We are happy to tackle
the minor repairs, or the most major. Our huge trailer parts inventory
allows us to get you back on the road quickly. We represent Dexter Axle,
the largest and most common trailer axle on the road today. We carry a large inventory of trailer repair parts, so we can make your repair quickly and provide quality parts for the do-it-yourselfer.
Our
shop personnel have tackled just about every kind of repair imaginable.
The trailer shown has new fenders, new protective light boxes, and
new axles. This trailer is being wired and decked prior to a full
paint job. |
This
is a common repair we see. The trailer's wheel bearings failed, the
wheel came off the trailer, and the spindle dragged on the pavement.
This is not necessarily an expensive repair. The axle can be purchased
as a "tube and spindle" only, allowing you to reuse the
original brakes, hubs, leaf springs, etc.

Trailer
electrical repairs are easy because we have the right equipment. This
device allows us to connect directly to the trailer plug and operate
each circuit. We are able to measure the voltage and current draw
in each circuit. This helps us identify shorts, weak brake magnets,
poor grounds, etc. This tester also ensures that your trailer is wired
to the industry standard, allowing your trailer to connect to any
truck.
|
We
routinely machine brake drums to make sure the drums are round and
true. This photo shows the magnet surface of the drum being machined.
Rough magnet surfaces are a common cause of poor brake performance
on electric brake trailers. This perpendicular surface requires the
special lathe shown. The same unit also machines the brake lining
surfaces. |
This
trailer is receiving a new set of brake shoes and springs. The bearings
will be re-packed and new seals will be installed. This routine repair
can be done as needed, or some customers ask us to perform maintenance
on a scheduled basis. |
Because
we build trailers, we have all the right equipment to repair or manufacture
trailer body parts such as this bent fender. |
